Biodiesel is rapidly gaining attention from commercial transport and, as a result,
companies interested in commercial production. Reducing dependence on fossil
fuel and the volatile foreign market would enable price stability in those markets
as well as end-use markets.
With a greater focus on environmental issues, companies are also
more conscious of ways to meet their corporate responsibilities.
Biodiesel is one way companies can accomplish this, particularly
in areas of transport. That's because biodiesel reduces emissions
of carbon monoxide by approximately 50% and carbon dioxide by 78%.
It also lowers direct tailpipe emission by as much as 20%. Biodiesel
is as biodegradable as sugar and less toxic than the salt you sprinkle
on your food. These facts alone help companies with both socially
responsible and government mandated environmental initiatives. |
