L. Dan Thompson, Chief Executive Officer
With more than forty years of management experience in both public and private corporations, Mr. Thompson serves as White Energy's Chief Executive Officer, as well as a member of its Board of Directors. In this capacity, Mr. Thompson is responsible for all activities of White Energy. Mr. Thompson has served as President and CEO, as well as Chief Financial Officer of public and private companies, including President and CEO of a large corn processor that also produced ethanol. Mr. Thompson currently serves on two Boards of Directors. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, with a major in accounting, from Pittsburg State University and he performed graduate study in finance at North Texas State University.
John Neufeld, Senior Vice President
Mr. Neufeld serves as Senior Vice President, joining White Energy pursuant to its acquisition of U.S. Energy Partners, LLC, where he served as general manager. Prior to joining U.S. Energy Partners, Mr. Neufeld was Vice President of operations for ADM Milling, a global division of the Fortune 500 agri-processing company. Mr. Neufeld was general manager of ADM Milling's Canadian division for eight years, a period in which the business doubled in size. Additionally, Mr. Neufeld has held senior roles in risk management, logistics, operations and marketing with Ogilvie Mills, Ltd., a Canadian division of John Labatt Ltd, which was acquired by ADM in 1992. Mr. Neufeld has served on the Board of the Minneapolis Grain Exchange and is a former Chairman of the Canadian National Millers Association.
Ron Dunbar, Vice President Ethanol Operations
Mr. Dunbar serves as Vice President of Ethanol Operations, joining the Company pursuant to its acquisition of U.S. Energy Partners, LLC, where he served as plant manager. Mr. Dunbar joined U.S. Energy Partners in August of 2001 and was responsible for the final phase of construction of the Russell ethanol facility, as well as the initial startup of its operations. Mr. Dunbar was also responsible for the expansion of the Russell Plant from 25 to 40 million-gallon permitted capacity and the integration of the wheat starch stream from the gluten facility into the ethanol process. Upon the purchase of the U.S. Energy Partners facility in 2006, Mr. Dunbar stepped into the Vice President of Ethanol Manufacturing role and was part of the team that completed the construction of the two facilities in Texas. Prior to joining U.S. Energy Partners, he was the plant manager at Sutherland Ethanol for eighteen months. Mr. Dunbar began his career in the ethanol industry in 1995 as an operator in the A.G.P. ethanol facility in Hastings, Nebraska, where he performed various roles prior to his appointment as production superintendent.
Barbara Elliott, Director of Training, Quality Control, and Safety
Mrs. Elliott serves as Director of Quality Control and Safety for White Energy's three ethanol plants and wheat gluten facility. Prior to joining White Energy, Mrs. Elliot served in a similar capacity for U.S. Energy Partners, LLC. Under her direction, the White Energy Russell complex was awarded the much coveted Safety and Health Achievement Recognition Program ("SHARP") in 2006. Mrs. Elliot was responsible for developing, establishing and implementing the quality and safety programs at all of the White Energy facilities. Until August 2006, U.S. Energy Partners was the training site for employees of more than two dozen ICM ethanol plants and Mrs. Elliot and her team were responsible for the classroom and hands-on training that gave hundreds of ethanol trainees their start in the business. Mrs. Elliot continues to provide training for White Energy plant employees. Prior to the last nine years in the ethanol industry, she worked in agriculture related industries for more than a decade and was an instructor at area junior colleges and Fort Hays State University. Mrs. Elliot has a Master's of Science degree in biology with an emphasis in microbiology.
Regis Weiss, Vice President Gluten Operations
Mr. Weiss joined US Energy Partners L.L.C. in February of 2002 as plant manager of the wheat processing and gluten plants. Since joining US Energy Partners, Mr. Weiss has overseen a successful facility startup at the Russell Plant and gluten production capacity increases. Under Mr. Weiss' guidance, US Energy Partners developed into a leading supplier of VWG from both an international and domestic standpoint. In addition to his wheat flour and gluten plant managing duties, Mr. Weiss served as the plant manager of the new state-of-the-art US Energy Partners custom specialty feed production facility. Prior to joining US Energy Partners, Mr. Weiss spent 14 years with Amber Milling\Harvest States Milling in several capacities. Mr. Weiss served as milling shift supervisor from 1988-1992 and for the next 6 years served as the production supervisor, safety manager and subsequently the mill manager with the Harvest States Huron Ohio milling facility. Mr. Weiss has been a member of the Association of Operative Millers since 1990 and has been a member of the International Wheat Gluten Association since 2003, currently serving as US Energy Partners' voting delegate.
