Hereford is an ideal choice for an ethanol plant because it fits well into White
Energy's proximity-to-market strategy. Additionally, Hereford is the "Cattle
Capital of the World," providing a built-in market for distiller's wet grain
(DWG), the primary by-product of the ethanol production process, which is a
high-protein feed supplement used by the beef and dairy industries. Selling wet
as opposed to dry distiller's grain allows White Energy to further reduce
emissions by not having to use additional natural gas in the drying process,
which further solidifies the company's focus on being an environmentally
friendly company.
This 100-million-gallon-per-year nameplate production facility came online during
the first quarter of 2008.
